What’s unlicensed

The site framework (templates, CSS, and the general copy we wrote to run the site) is published under The Unlicense. That means you can copy, modify, and reuse those parts freely.

The Unlicense (summary)
This is free and unencumbered software released into the public domain.
Anyone is free to copy, modify, publish, use, compile, sell, or distribute this software, either in source code form or as a compiled binary, for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial, and by any means.
For the full text, see https://unlicense.org/.

What is not unlicensed

Individual works by residents (stories, photos, audio, video) remain the sole property of their creators. Contributors grant The Interurbanist a non-exclusive license to publish on this site and in archived issues. That license does not apply to anyone else. If you want to reprint a neighbor’s work, please ask them.

Takedowns and corrections

If you see an error or want your contribution removed, contact the editor and we’ll fix it promptly.

Trademarks and third-party content

Names, logos, and images that are someone else’s trademarks remain theirs. Third-party embeds (e.g., YouTube) are subject to their own terms.
